Tournament Director Nolan Bacchieri writes: Concord Country Club hosted the MAPTA Men’s PTI 50+ Tournament on Saturday, March 2nd, and though the rain was steady, all 32 teams were steadily joyous and competitive. Thank you to Radley Run, Greenville, and Vicmead for allowing us to use their facilities and having lunch at each site. The morning rounds flew by while using four facilities and the finals of the main draw and all back draws culminated at Concord.
The tournament had a little bit of everything…father son duos, out of towners testing our MAPTA guys, multiple 3- setters & tiebreakers, some slips & slides, beer flowing, battles of youth vs. experience, and more. The main draw final ended up seeing the youth prevail in this long, grueling tournament day as brothers & Concord members CJ Scoffone and Daniel Scoffone defeated the Wallingford duo of Colin McAleney and Chris Lobdell. Thank you to all who came out to play, support, and hang out!
