The Board of Directors of the American Platform Tennis Association (APTA) is
responsible for
overseeing the overall direction and management of the organization, which is the governing
body
of the sport of platform tennis.
Some of the key responsibilities of the APTA Board of Directors
include:
- Setting policies and procedures: To guide the operations of the
sport and the APTA, including determining rules for the game, format
recommendations, membership requirements, and other key areas of the organization
and sport.
- Strategic planning: To develop and implement short- and long-term
goals and objectives for the APTA, as well as determining the steps necessary to
achieve them.
- Financial oversight: To oversee and vote on the financial
operations of the APTA, including approving budgets, monitoring financial
performance, and ensuring that the organization is in compliance with all applicable
financial regulations.
- Member engagement: To perpetuate an environment in line with the
APTA’s mission of informing, instructing, and inspiring APTA members, and ensuring
that their needs and interests are being addressed by the organization.
- Promotion of platform tennis: To promote the sport to the broader
community and increase awareness of the sport, including developing marketing and
communications strategies and working to increase participation in the sport.
