The draw size for the Men's National Championship is 64 teams and the draw size of the Men's Challenger is an additional 32 teams. When the number of teams on the waitlist exceeds the number of available spots and there is a tie in ranking (either matching NRT points or no NRT points) for the last available spot or spots, the team(s) with the lowest combined PTI will be moved into the tournament. All teams will be notified of entry status by Wednesday, February 25th. Seeding for the National draw will be by NRT points, seeding for the Challenger draw will be by PTI.
Format
All main draw and all back draw matches will be 2 out of 3 sets with no ad scoring (server's choice) and a 7 point tie break at 6-6.
Wild Cards
National Ranking Tournaments (NRT) and PTI level Tournaments with a “waitlist only” entry. All National Ranking Tournaments (NRT) and PTI level Tournaments are subject to wild card spots, with a wild card available for every 16 teams allowed in a draw. A wild card team must be registered for the tournament by the registration deadline and must be approved by the National Tournament Committee. Wild card requests may come from tournament directors, the APTA, or players themselves, and should be requested prior to the close of registration. If no wild card spots are used, the draw will be filled out by the next eligible team/s.
