Tournament Director Laurie Hissey writes:

Fifty juniors took to the courts at Radley Run Country Club on Sunday, January 7th. The rains stopped for the kids and opened up a day of rigorous competition among the players. Sixteen 15U teams fought hard for the crown, but Rafa Pawar and Luke Cusack from Essex Fells, NJ, remained impressive throughout the day, giving up two games in all play through to the final, where they defeated the tough duo of Kaitlyn Choi and Sophia Lee in the final, 6-2, 6-1.  Other teams who forged into post-round robin play were Ryan Hart and Max Cooper, (Radley Run) Charlie Barrickman and Luke Tierney (Radley Run), Gustav Najdek (Waynesborough) and Will Connolly (Aronimink) Sam Russell and Harry Roberts (Kennett Square), Thomas Binder (Radley Run) and Rori Duffy (Manufacturers) and Tucker Carroll (Kennett Square) and Ethan Hoffmann (Radley Run).

In the 12U tournament, five teams competed, with Anthony Lopez (Kennett Square) and Blake Venema (Radley Run) defeating Beatrice Binder and Aiden Johnson (Radley Run) in the final 0-6, 6-0, 6-4.  Congratulations to all of the players.

Last but not least, the 10U draw saw four teams going for top honors. Sydney Venema (Radley Run) and Kendall Patton (Concord) defeated the tough team of Harper Blaszko (Radley Run) and Sawyer Russell (Kennett) in the final 6-4, 6-3.

I am most proud of eight new players who joined in on the action. These kids had previously never played in an APTA event. Congratulations on taking the plunge!
