Many Thanks To Our Retiring APTA Board Members

single-blog

Demian Johnston  An APTA Board member for six years and Board President for two, Demian brought to the APTA an unflagging enthusiasm, kindness, and a quest for knowledge that greatly improved the paddle world. He was duly unmasked as the PTI Guy, a role he greatly enjoyed, always willing to dive deep into PTI queries and ways to improve its algorithms. Always humble, Demian says that his favorite role is as Fawning Paddle Fan. He is a Team Nationals champion, a paddle advocate, a loyal teammate, and an indefatigable proponent of the APTA.

John McElhenny    Concluding his second term on the APTA Board, John has served as Treasurer and the Chair of the Grants and Loans Committee with a calming influence, great thoughtfulness, and precision. After living in Cincinnati for many years and experiencing firsthand how the Cleveland Flats paddle facility transformed public paddle in Ohio, John wanted every community to have that same access. Currently a transplant to Boston’s South Shore, he continues to play the game with newfound teammates and will expound on the game’s positive attributes with any and all takers.

Thank you, Demian and John, for all your contributions – you will be greatly missed!
